Working Like a Dog?? Literally.

After my first post last week, I became more interested in the idea of dogs having social media accounts. This led me to research the hype behind our furry friends. Turns out, there is a lot of hype. This is a real thing. It's no longer pet owners posting pictures and getting likes, it's pets having their own account. I posted the link to the article, "Working Like a Dog: Instagram's Popular Pups Bank up to $3,000 per Post". Yes, you read that right, $3.000. That's THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Again, as mentioned in the last post, I bring up the idea that my dog could easily have her own account. Why doesn't she? Especially after seeing these numbers. Samson the Doodle has nothing on Gidget the Corgi. I mean, seriously. Where do I sign up? And who do I need to talk to in order to get Gidget a paying gig? Look at that face. Clearly, a superstar.

The great thing about this new phenomenon is that it can bring a lot of awareness to important issues. Organizations can use this as a way to gain attention or raise money for a great cause. For something that seems so trivial, there are so many ways that cute animals on Instagram can make a huge difference. I also find it interesting that the dogs aren't only being used to advertise for dog food or dog toys, etc. They are even being used to advertise things like designer shoes. Why? Because dogs appeal to everyone. It doesn't matter the age, race, gender, and so on.. Everyone loves dogs. Without even realizing it, our pets are taking over the advertising and marketing world. With all these dog clients, there are now agencies for the dogs. Who knew we could be raising legends.. Legends with paws.

  1. I love dogs! How do they turn their posts into cash though? How many followers do they need to become "famous"? I think advertising with dogs gets everyone's attention.
